Purpose of this eBook We believe that Equality and Sustainable Development are evolving journeys we are on together. Because every organization is at a different point in the journey, this guide is designed to help you regardless of where you are and where you started. Depending on your goals and previous accomplishments, you can skip ahead to the appropriate chapter. This guide is not exhaustive because we are still learning with you. We want to inspire one another to take action on the important topics of equality, diversity, and sustainable development. What do you values want to create an impact with? At Salesforce, we believe that we can enable, collectively as an ecosystem, the most change possible in our communities. Prepare for the journey ahead To begin this journey, we recommend Sustainable Development that partners start by learning. Kick off your own equality journey Join a Commitment to Equality Start by joining an existing commitment to workplace equality. The CEO Action Pledge is the Get started with largest Diversity and Inclusion pledge representing 1600+ CEOs across 85 industries. Many these simple but Salesforce partners (including Accenture, Docusign, IBM and more) have already joined the impactful actions pledge to support a more inclusive workplace. and policy changes Provide Employee Diversity Training Develop your own employee training materials on diversity and inclusion topics or leverage Trailhead. A well-designed training will empower underrepresented groups, enhance collaboration and improve interpersonal skills. Donate to Nonprofits Provide monetary donations to nonprofits or match your employees’ donations. The Pledge 1% global movement offers a flexible framework for companies to donate a mix of equity, time, product and profit. Companies in 100 different countries have used this methodology to reach their philanthropy goals. Offer Employee Volunteer Time Off (VTO) Turn your employees into citizen philanthropists with a VTO policy that gives them the opportunity to volunteer during work hours at the organizations of their choice. From beach or park cleanups to animal shelters, there are countless options that also serve as great team bonding. Participate in Local Diversity & Inclusion Initiatives Identify the needs in your community and get connected to local initiatives. For example, Girls Who Code works towards closing the gender gap in entry-level tech jobs by targeting traditionally under-resourced schools and universities. CHAPTER 2: GET STARTED | 10

Build structure for future actions Publish a Values Mission Statement In a public commitment or mission statement, let your customers know how you are in the business of doing good. Articulate how your organization intends to take action towards improving diversity and inclusion at your workplace. This can include setting goals such as minority representation and/or hiring targets, which you can adapt by region. Create a Policy for Sustainable Development Initiatives Draft and publish a company policy that summarizes your organization’s approach to sustainability. Examples include sustainable operations guidelines, emissions targets, or how you incorporate outside initiatives such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals, 1t.org as tactics to live out your values. Establish Employee Resource Groups Support the organization of employee resource groups (ERG) such as a Black Employee Community or Women’s Network based on what is appropriate for your region. ERGs encourage open conversations and awareness of equality issues across different offices and departments. These groups empower any employee to support their peers by becoming informed allies. Implement Recruiting Programs Implement best practices for inclusive hiring at your organization. Beyond hiring practices, develop programs (such as Talent Alliance and Pathfinder) to boost the diversity of your hiring pipeline by offering trainings and expanding your search to a broader set of qualified individuals particularly in areas where remote work can expand your range. Dedicate a Resource to Support D&I Initiatives A dedicated person or team can define diversity and set appropriate targets for your company and region. They can facilitate and encourage open dialogue on equality and diversity topics and be a champion for continued areas of improvement and more. CHAPTER 3: BUILD | 13

Expand your initiatives to the next level Design a Company Action Plan Regularly update a company action plan with specific steps and milestones related to diversity and inclusion. The action plan can incorporate all areas of diversity and inclusion mentioned in Get creative and this guide. Beyond demographic data, start collecting information on recruitment, retention, or advancement by race and/or gender. If applicable, differentiate between technical and non- technical roles. Conduct Equal Pay Audits Perform equal pay audits (or pay gap analysis) with salary adjustment as needed to close the pay gap between genders and races. Start by determining the scope, then conduct an investigation to determine any adjustments and repeat annually if possible. Encourage Supplier Diversity Encourage supplier diversity by subcontracting with and supporting diverse owned businesses through purchasing practices. Seek certified diverse suppliers that bring innovation and go beyond compliance to positively impact local communities, ecosystems, and the environment. Join the UN Global Compact The UN Global Compact encourages business to implement sustainable policies and report on their implementation.
